The elements that I noticed was that the boy from Storm he used events about how he got bullied and how he was like the only one being bullied in his school. The part that I thought it was interesting was that how his father did not wanted to go to this place were they talk about kids being bullied and how they could prevent about their child being bullied. If I was able to make this, what I would do different is get back at the kids that bullied me or change to another school and talk about what happened to me with my mother and what I want her to do about this. This response is different from other responses because in this response I put many information about what I think should be done about people being bullied.

Book Club Blog Critique

In my book of "The Diary of Anne Frank", this young girl named Anne Frank is living throughout a hard situation. Anne Frank lived throughout the time of were the Jewish people were tortured by the Nazis. She and her family went into hiding and she faces many bad things in that place called "The Secret Annexe", she faces hunger, boredom, and many cruel situations.
I connect Anne's Frank book to this movie that I saw named "Roots", in that movie there were slaves that did not have the freedom to do nothing. They tortured them a lot and I think that this is not fair for none of them. The characters live are different from one another because Anne Frank is Jewish and the man from "Roots", his name is Kunta Kinte, he is from Africa. I have take my sister diary and she did not like that. So she scream to my mother and I got mad at my mother because I thought that she was always defending her. But then when I grow up I suddenly realized that she like us both the same. In Anne Frank book Anne took her sister book and then her sister got mad and then her sister called for her mother because Anne Frank did not wanted to give it back to her. So Anne Frank thought that her mother was protecting her sister more than her.
The saddest part of the book is when she gets caught by the Nazis and she haded to get separated from her family. I was about to cry because nobody wants to get separated by their good family, that treated them good, I think that this is not fair. I think that this book should be read because the people from now needs to know how Anne Frank lived and how the Jewish people suffered in the time that Anne Frank was alive. I also recommend this book to people from now because I think that you could learn more about how Jewish people went into hiding because of what was happening in the Nazis, and about how much she suffered throughout that time.

Introduction to my short story

Melissa waked up in the middle of the night surrounded by the deep blue sky thinking about that place called The Haunted Shadow. The place that everyone is talking about. They said that it is so cool and fun over there. Melissa decided to tell her mother to do a big mansion in that place called The Haunted Shadow, she thought that if she did the biggest mansion in The Haunted Shadow will respect them and say Hi to them everyday they walk out their biggest mansion. So she headed downstairs and said "Mother, were are you". "I'm right here Melissa". Her mother said. Melissa started telling her that she wanted to a mansion in The Haunted Shadow. Her mother immediately said no. Melissa told her mother that she hated her and that she haded a lot of money to make another mansion. Melissa ran upstairs crying and she wrote on her diary that she hated her mother and that she haded a lot of money for buying the mansion in The Haunted Shadow.
Melissa was so disappointed that she could not go to that place that people said that it was supposed to be fun. Melissa went outside to get some fresh air because she did not want to stay in her house. When she came back she saw her mother eyes darkened black tears were coming out of her eyes because of the makeup she wears. Melissa sat next to her and asked her what was wrong. Her mother told her that she went in Melissa's room and that she saw that Melissa's diary was open. Melissa got mad at her for a second because she did not like people reading her diary. But she immediately understand that she was crying because of the bad things she wrote on her diary of her mother. Melissa hugged her mother and told her that she was sorry and Melissa's eyes darkened and she felt tears running all over her cheeks. When she did not expect it her mother said that she wanted to make a mansion in The Haunted Shadow. Melissa started jumping up and down because she was so happy that they were going to go to that place that people said that it was fun and cool. At least Mexicans that are immigrants could go shop and come to their house at whatever time they want as long as they are in Mexico because if immigrants are in the United States Of America then they would be almost scare that they would get caught because if the police catch the immigrants then they would send them to jail and even send them back to were they belong.

Anne Frank Book Club Response

I could connect this book to one of my cousin because she has a diary and there she writes a lot of things that happens to her. Also she is like Anne Frank because they are both teenage girls and both of them do what they want to do and get in trouble with their parents. I could text-to-world because many people like doing a lot of things that their parents do not approves and then they get in trouble and there is popular people like Anne Frank that writes down about their whole entire life and the bad things and good things that happens to them. I disagree with Anne Frank because she does not listens to what her mother says and then something really bad could happen to her because she did not listened to her parents. Some parents knows what is good for their children. I would listen to my parents because I know that they are just trying to protect me and to help me. Anne Frank is a popular girl and she is a bad girl as well because she does not listen to their parents but she is good too though. But I really liked this book because it talks about a young girl and she writes in this diary about her whole life and also she writes almost every single thing that happens to her.

Alice Walker

Alice Walker started writing in between the 1960s. Three major event that took place during the time period was the civil war, the war at Vietnam, and the year that Abraham Lincoln was murdered. This time period influenced their poetry because many things were happening. For example, so many wars that some people got depressed. I think that the background has influenced their poetry because she uses the color purple and the color purple for me is depressing and she also wrote many poems that were depressing. If I had the opportunity to have a conversation with Alice Walker the poet I would ask her why does she write many depressing poems and why did she put her background purple.

sonnet poem 123

The theme of the sonnet is to remember her for when she go far away. The clues that gave away the theme was that in one line of the sentence it says remember me when I am gone away. This means that he rather do all this examples instead of doing the homework the teacher assigns him. I know that this is the mood because in the poem he says everything bad that they do to him. For example according to the article it says "The Belgians cut off my hands in the Congo". That's why I think he is mad because nobody would like other people to cut their hands off and more if you are a slave. Also in the other line of the poem it says "Caesar told me to keep his door-steps clean". I learned about that she is scared of her boyfriend that is why she gets hit a lot from him. The inference that I could make about this poem is that Chankara's sister is letting Chankara's boyfriend hit her because it Chankara says that her sister told her that he would not hit her again but he keeps on hitting her. The inference that I could make about Chankara is that she is sooner or later is going to the cops because there comes a time that people get tired of others that are hitting them and then they go to the cops. I could connect this to the world because some people especially ladies get hit a lot and then there comes a time that they get so tired and mad that they go to the cops to report the one that is hitting her they also could end up being murdered if they do not report their abuse. The poetry reveals about Chankara that she is a frightened girl and that maybe she needs help but she have to stand up for herself not for nobody else. The bet word that describes Chankara is frightened because she is so scared that her boyfriend hit her again. I think the meaning of this poem is to not let nobody hit you that even your boyfriend because then they could end up killing you so you have to act now before it is too late.

Poetry Response

The inference that I could make about this poem is that this man was a slave and that he was a Negro from when black people were slaves. The word that best describes that the poet is feeling is sad because if you were in the situation that he was in then you won't feel really happy about being a slave. Also he is feeling sad because the people that haded slaves are treating him like if he is not a human being because they even cut his hands off.
The meaning of the poem is that this slave was a black man that suffered too many things including that they cut his hands off in the Congo and also they haded racism in the time that he live in. I connect this to a movie that I saw that there was this slave that was black and they treated him like he is not a person like us. They cut his feet because he tried to run away and he tried to escape many times because he did not wanted to live in this place that people treated him really bad.

Readers Response 5

Title: Romeo and Juliet
Author: Shakespeare

In the book Romeo and Juliet it is about how this girl named Juliet and this boy named Romeo could not be together. The parents of both Romeo and Juliet hated each other. It was then that Romeo went to the party of Juliet's family. Then Romeo and Juliet met each other and then they fall in love. But then Juliet and Romeo found out that they was enemies and their families hated each other. But they loved each other. So then Juliet's cousin killed Romeo's cousin. Then Romeo was so mad that he killed Juliet's cousin and then the cops was on him. The next day they send him far away from Juliet's family. When Juliet find out that he was far away from Romeo then she asked the father from the church to give her something for they could think that she is dead and then suddenly Romeo's friend saw Juliet and thought that she was really dead. So then he went running to Romeo and told him that Juliet was dead. Romeo got so scared that he went to where Juliet was and saw her there sleeping but he thought she was dead and then he took a poison and then he drank it and then Juliet waked up and she touchhed him but it was too late and he turned around and smiled and then died. So that's when Juliet started crying and took a gun and killed herself and that's hoow the story ended.

Hello Barack Obama!

Hello Barack Obama!
I know you are so happy to be president.
Now that you are the white house' resident.
I know you are going to change the world
With every word
that you say
You make everybody happy each day.
Barack
Obama
You
Are
History
And
Remember
This
Is
Not
A
Mystery

Inaugural Poem Response

I think that the title "Praise Song for the Day", means that is going to be a change because Barack Obama is going to be the next president. For example, the world is going to change. This poem is significant because now the world is going to have a big change. For example, economics is going to go down and everybody is going to be treated right.
The poem make me feel good and excited because the words of the poem opened my heart and it also teaches me of everyday life. For example, according to the article says " A woman and her son wait for the bus. A farmer coinsiders the changing sky. A teacher says, take out you pencil. Begin. This are example of the everyday life.
The phrase that I liked was "Praise the song for struggle, praise song for the day. I think that thee used this words in the poem because they want you to know that the world has change. For example, the phrase praise song for the day means that the world has change.
This poem relates to Barack Obama because he is the next president that is going to change the world. The poem reminds me of when somebody treated my aunt bad and then some people were protecting her.

Readers Response 4

Title: Speak
Author: Laurie Halse Anderson
Pages: 3-7

In the story of Melinda in speak is about this girl that is her first day of school and she is not in a good mood and her stomach is hurting her in the school bus. After this she finds a girl named Rachel she used to be her friend, but now they are not friends because of what happened in the party. I could compare this to the world because some people don't know that sometimes people makes mistakes. Like in the case of Melinda she was accused of something that she did not did. She feel guilty and many people have this situation everyday of our lives. Then when Melinda enters school everybody is looking at her like if she is weird and that everybody hates her in that school.

"Themes in To Kill a Mockingbird"

Some majors things in to kill a mockingbird is to be respectful, anger, and love. The author reveals respectful because Jem was tearing Ms.Dubose bushes down and Atticus told him that that was wrong from him doing that. The author reveals anger because the reason Jem teared the bushes of Ms. Dubose it was because she was talking bad about his family and he does not like that. The author also reveals love because when Scout aunt tells Atticus that he should not treat her like a baby, but Atticus tells her that she is still her baby and that he is not going to treat her bad. The lesson that I think Jem is going to learn is to be more respectful. I think that Harper Lee the author is going to make us learn is that to be more respectful and more mature.

Test Prep Action Plan

My goals for test prep is to work on a 4 on the test. I am going to work hard on studying every night for I could pass my test with a 4. I am to go over the things that I am having difficult things like taking notes. I am also going to tell my mother to do me a fake test that have all the things that I don't know like vocabulary and she is going to go over the fake test to see what I did wrong and what I did bad. The things that I get wrong I'm going to go over it. The type of questions that are in the ELA Exam are like what is the hard vocabulary meaning and you have to put yourself in the character's shoes (just a saying). I go over them and until I get what they saying I keep on but now I'm going to work on getting what the questions, passages, and Test Books is saying. I am also going to work on the difficult books for then I could work on the difficult books. Use examples from your readings and personal experience to support your answer.

Yes, people do really change because at first some people is a bad person and they change and become a good person. For example, in this movie that I saw, this girl named Helena was a bad girl and she used to bully a lot of kids in her school. She thought that she was popular, and then she killed this little kid named Robert and she felt sorry for him, then she became good but she went to jail and learn her lesson.

Election Reflection

What made this election historic was that Barack Obama is the first person to ever be an African American president. Obama's election means a lot to me because he is going to change the world and many people also think that he is going to make a change and a better world. For example, he is going to fix the war in Iraq because many soldiers are dying in the war. I feel really happy that Barack Obama won this election because I know that he is going to do a better change in the United States of America and he looks like he's a hard working man. In the next four years I think that he is going to do excellent because he is going to change the world. I kissed her goodbye kiss and I left to the college. I was a rich girl that lived in the biggest mansion near Virginia. I was a very popular girl in my college every time I went to college the people from my school opened the door for me to pass. I used to go out with this tennage boy named Eduardo. This boy named Alex always followed me wherever I go. Well let me tell you what happened, I was walking in a Friday morning through the park and I looked at Alex. He came to me and told me if I wasn't his girl he would kill me. Then he grabbed me and put a knife through my stomach, blood was coming through my mouth and then I stand up and felt nothing. That's when I saw my body lying on the floor. I got up and went to see my parents at home and saw them crying when they heard about my death. I was walking to school to see if I see my boyfriend but instead I saw Alex laughing with a bunch of friends in the school. I went over to him and I try to hurt him but I just couldn't I was just a ghost. The next day in the news I was in the newspaper and they find out that they put Alex in jail because of my murderer crime. I went back to my parents house to tell them one more time goodbye because I was really dying now. All of these four girls they just got out of camp and all four of them is gonna start school again. They really miss all of their friends from camp so they came up to put a blog for they could talk to them. So everyday they log in the computer and check out what other people posted and then they could talk with them back.
It all started with Natalie, it was her first time in the United States and she was starting a new year in her school and she is really nervous. Natalie is happy too at the same time because she is gonna see her best friend Hannah, then Hannah comes to Natalie house and they going to hang out together. Both of them like to walk in Central Park so they went their to walk.
I could connect my life to Natalie because she always a little nervous when she starts a new year. I also feel happy when I see my best friends. This helps me understand the story better because I have gone to similar experiences so every time I think about my life, I think about the story. I also could get in the character shoes and I could think that I'm the character at the same time.
This book reminds me of the time that I was in 5th grade because I used to have a lot of friends and all of them had a lot of problems and I used to give them some advice and then they felt better for it.

'Raft: This land is your land'

How does the information in the box "A day in the life (of me!)" help the reader understand the article?

The information in the box help the reader understand the article because it gives details about the daily tasks of living of the land. What happened was that this boy was in his room and then aliens came in his room and told the boy that they was here to take away a boy that it is not exactly a boy he's an alien and that boy squishes bugs and bullies the main character. I could text this book to the world because there is people that bullies other kids and then they don''t get away with it. I could also text-to-self because, one day I was in my school in second grade a third grade kid came and pushed me. So I remembered that my teacher said if we fight we don't get prizes. So then I went
to the main office and told the principal what happened and then he went to the girl and called her mother and then she got in trouble. I also felt glad that I did not fight, and solve the problem by telling the principal.
I could connect myself to the character because in my book the character is curious and I am also curious like him. My character is intelligent with everything he does, I am also intelligent for everything I do . This helps me to understand more the story well because the character in the book is just like me and I get to understand everything that he does. This books reminds me of Ramona Forever because in Ramona Forever she talks about how annoying some people are and on the book I'm reading he thinks that the aliens are annoying as well. What makes these two books different is that Ramona Forever she talks about her life and in Aliens ate my Homework. This book reminds me of the class of science class because the aliens comes from a planet and in science class you learn about many planets. A character that I like the least was Grakker the alien because he almost and hardly did nothing in the book, for me he was boring he did not had action or nothing in the book.
In one sentence of my book the boy says that being a 2-inch creature is fun. I disagree because I imagine myself being a 2-inch creature and maybe you could get squish like an ant, you could get in a lot of trouble. I thought that the end of the book satisfied me because at the end it was a happy ending was a happy ending and at the end they got rid off the bad alien and put that alien in the alien's cell. I could connect this to to the world because people that break the rules on the streets get put in jail just like in my book. At the middle of the book I predicted that the boy was going to betrayed them and told his friend because in that book this boy never could lie about nothing and the teacher asked him what happened with his science project Homework he said that the aliens ate his homework and nobody believed him. I predicted that the aliens was going to do something bad to him. My prediction came true because that was when I read that the Aliens ate my Homework and that Grakker the alien did a hole through his ears and it look like if he did an ear pear. I also thought that the title didn't fit with the story because the book doesn't only talks about the aliens eating his homework. Mostly, the book talks about how the aliens came in a mission that they needed to take this bad alien back where they came from which was Mars. If I could titled this book I will put "When the Aliens came to visit."

Readers Response 1

Title: Aliens ate my Homework
Author: Bruce Coville's

I thought that my book was interesting because the author of Aliens ate my homework makes me laugh and he is a very funny character and he write this book to entertain people.
